First I took the photo below and edited it in photoshop.
I then opened the Photoshop document in After Effects. I was then able to move the text around by creating key points using the position tool located under each layer’s transform option. I did each letter individually then I applied a background. The background I applied was too short for the length of my animation. I then duplicated the layer and positioned it so that it played smoothly in the background. In the end of the video I duplicated the “O” layer in “YORK”. I scaled it to a smaller size, then scaled it to a bigger size while having the “scale” option selected. Lastly I added the audio effect of a crowd cheering.
Thus far I have been able to come up with a background. After much searching via Google & YouTube I was able to find one that I liked. I have now been able to maneuver most of the text the way I envisioned. By my next update I should have been able to achieve the animation I was hoping for. STAY TUNED!
For my final project my goal is to use the photo above and animate it in celebration of York College 50th anniversary celebration. I will seek to use the “YORK” text graphic and to create a different background.

Throughout developing this idea I have been referring to YouTube videos to draw some inspiration. I didn’t really find anything else that I’d like to incorporate into the project as yet. However, as i continue to create this animated poster.
For this quiz I had some trouble figuring out how to mask. I was able to draw the area which i wanted to mask but got confused when it came to the next step. I was able to find a tutorial on YouTube to help me get this masking assignment accomplished.
